Dorothy Hibbard
1922-2012
Dorothy Hibbard, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri died Friday, February 17, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 9, 1922 to Ealem Carter and Ruth (Leonard) Veale in King City, Missouri.
She married Francis Hibbard August 19, 1959. He preceded her in death March 18, 2001.
Dorothy was very active within the Vintage Garden community. She enjoyed playing pitch, bingo, and various other games with those in her community.
Mrs. Hibbard loved the Lord and was very committed to her faith.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Kim and Patsy; two brothers, Leonard Veale and Howard Veale; and grandson, Doug.
Survivors: her children, Larry Bittick, Cameron, Missouri, Jodi Herring (Bill), Wathena, Kansas, Glenna Miller (Craig), Huntington Beach, California, Tom Nance (Terry), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Terry Hibbard, Long Beach, Calfornia; brother, Ralph “Potts” Veale (Juanita), St. Joseph; grandchildren, Karen, Ian, Heidie, Mike, Andrea, Shayla, Richard, Charla, Randy, Michelle, Ryan, Brian, and Kevin; and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services: 1:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Fillmore Cemetery. The Family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The Family suggests memorial gifts to City of Hope in Duarte, California.
