David Thomas Smith, 72, St. Joseph, Missouri died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 24, 1939 to Willie “Jack” Dunk and Mary Madlyn (Thomas) Smith in Avondale, Missouri.
He married Doris P. Hutchins. She preceded him in death in 2007.
Mr. Smith was self-employed working in the Human Resources field.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Margaret Bland.
Survivors: two daughters, Stephanie Kersey (Michael), Stewartsville, Missouri and Tammy Sue Smith; four grandchildren; one great-grandson and two nieces and two nephews.

It was nice knowing you David, even though it was for a very short time. You are now in a better place where you are constantly being taken care of. I wish circumstances were different where I could have known you better and for a longer time. Rest in peace Mr. Smith!
