Tralucia W. “Lou” Franklin, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri died Friday, April 13, 2012 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born January 26, 1924 to William and Tralucia (Proctor) Walden Argubright in Slater, Missouri.
She married Robert E. Franklin December 24, 1940. He preceded her in death March 31, 2002.
Mrs. Franklin received her degree in Social Work from Missouri Western State University and worked for the Division of Family Services. She also managed the Moila Pool.
Lou was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, DAR, and MWSC-Alumnus.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise Butts; granddaughters, Katie Savidge-Kluge and Tralou Chastain.
Survivors: son, Bill Franklin (Margie), Lake Ozark, Missouri; daughter, Karen (Mimi) Savidge (Boomer), Village of the Oaks, Missouri; daughter, Lucia Chastain, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; daughter, Susan Roth (Bob), St. Joseph; daughter, Jeannie Franklin, St. Joseph; daughter, Cyndi Michalski, St. Joseph; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The Family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Monday. The Family suggests memorial gifts to MWSU Foundation and Moila Transportation Fund.

We were blessed with Lou’s friendship as well as the entire Franklin family. She was most often the center and all with whom she came in contact found a new friend. She will be missed and we must now count on the memories.
What a wonderful legacy she leaves behind as her children are some of the kindest, most talented individuals I have ever known. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten. Peace be with you…

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. It is so difficult losing parents and my heart is with each one of you. I remember your mother fondly when I worked at Moila the last summer we lived in St. Joe. We had such a good time and I enjoyed getting to know her.
