1925-2012

 

      Roy L. Moorman, 87, Waynesville, Missouri died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at a local healthcare facility. 

      He was born February 27, 1925 in Rockport, Missouri.

      His wife Norma preceded him in death December 14, 2011.

      During World War II, Roy served in the United States Coast Guard.

  He owned and operated Witmor Farms Restaurant.  He also worked for Sears and Roebuck Co. in St. Joseph, prior to moving to Waynesville.  He was a member of Saxton Lodge #508 A.F.& A.M.

      Survivors:   four sons, Chuck Moorman (Donna), St. Joseph, Jon James (Jodi), Tempe, Arizona, Jay James (Adriana), Tucson, Arizona, Garry James, Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Nanette Ridenour, Phoenix, Arizona; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

      Services:  10:00 A.M. Monday, Memorial Park Mausoleum. Entombment Memorial Park Mausoleum.  The Family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Sunday.  A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.  The Family suggests memorial gifts to Alzheimer’s Association.
