
George E. Haskey
1934-2012
George E. Haskey, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 16, 1934, to George S. and Edna K. (Schoenlaub) Haskey in St. Joseph.
He attended Christian Brothers High School and started for the football team at Northwest Missouri State University.
George married Jean Haskey August 9, 1958, in Tacoma, Washington, where they lived. In 1959, they moved back to St. Joseph
Mr. Haskey worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years as a Postal Carrier. He then became a Supervisor and held that position for more than 15 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Council 571, former member of St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, the National Association of Postal Supervisors, and helped with Troop 47 at St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. George was involved in Boys’ Baseball, girls’ softball and Bantum League Football as a coach.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Tom Haskey.
Survivors: his wife; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Jack Way, St. Joseph; grandchild, Corvette Way; brother-in-law, Doug Ferguson (Wendy), Graham, Washington; niece, Dayla; and nephew, Scott.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Inurnment Mount Olivet Cemetery. The Family suggests memorial gifts to American Cancer Society.

Sorry to hear about George He was a classmate at Cb.I was 1953. I remember Him and His parents very well they were very active with baseball and I remember taking trips to out of town tournaments with them They were great folks.George was our footall teams punter. will have a mass said for him here in Arizona. We were very lucky to have great parents who gave us the right start. God Bless Him and His Family Ken
Please accept our family’s sincerest condolences. My sister, Linda Power, enjoyed visiting with George from across the fence, when she lived on Miller Road. Now she can visit with both George and Tom, without a fence between them. May God bring you peace and comfort.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. He was an awesome man and will be forever remembered for his sense of humor, love and the fact that he was one of those men that was “solid as a rock”! Just thinking about how whenever I saw him – no matter how long it had been – we had our own joke about the way i said “fudgesicles”!!! Funny guy – good man! Love and prayers to all of you. Pam—I’m so sorry for the loss of your dad. Didn’t really know him, but from what I remember when Jack used to bowl with Randy, he was “quite a character”! My thoughts & prayers go out to you & your family.
It’s been 16 years since my dad passed away, but, I still miss him.
