      Cleo W. Tillman, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at his home at Corby Place Senior Living. 

      He was born April 18, 1920 to Keith and Mary (Easter) Tilman in West Plains, Missouri. He is the eldest of twelve siblings.

      He married Frances M. Tillman (McMillian) on September 27, 1947.

      Mr. Tillman worked for Nabisco for 32 years where he earned many awards.

      He never met a stranger and loved to talk. He had a strong work ethic, was always on time and always busy.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Mary Tilman; wife, Frances M. Tillman; and his daughter, Joan Sweet.

      Survivors include his son, Paul Tillman (Sue); daughter, Karen Gross (Alan); son-in-law, Nelson Sweet; five grandchildren, Doug, Mary, Beth, Michelle (Darren) and Stephanie (Jimmy); and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

      We would like to thank the Corby staff and Three Rivers Hospice for the amazing care given, as in Cleo’s words, “How about that.”

      Services:  1:00 P.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.  The Family will receive friends 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.  The Family suggests memorial gifts to Corby Place Senior Living.

    Uncle Cleo was a constant source of entertainment. I loved to listen to his stories at reunion time.I loved to see him in his patched up jeans. Waste not want not. I will miss him and remember him often.

    Uncle Cleo was such a character, as are all the children our grandparents raised, each in their own way! I can imagine the Reunion in heaven with his brothers and parents. Miss them all!

    Cleo will be missed by many. As the oldest of the 12, I remember he was looked on with respect by his siblings. He was always willing to talk and listen. And yes, Connie, I remember those patched jeans also. :^)
