Jennie V. Atwood, 84, St. Joseph, Missouri, formerly of Lenexa, Kansas, passed on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born in New Britain, Connecticut on December 10, 1927.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George C. Atwood of Bristol, Connecticut.
Survivors: her four children, Cynthia J. Atwood, New Marlborough, Massachusetts, Curtis J. Atwood, Lenexa, Kansas, Amanda C. Atwood, Long Beach, California and Alison M. Atwood, St. Joseph, Missouri; and one grandchild, Brendon P. Franz, Belleview, Nebraska.

I’m sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. Jennie & George were great neighbors and they have been missed. Jennie always had a smile and she was so kind to my children. I remember she made apple jelly with them one of the first summers we lived here. She acted as a surrogate “Grandmother” to several of the girls in the neighborhood. She was a wonderful person and I hope you find comfort in your memories. She loved all of you very much.
