      Vera Mae Jennings, 96, Stanberry, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Northwest Medical Center, Albany, Missouri.

      Vera was born November 2, 1915 in Ravenwood, Missouri the daughter of Lloyd Woodburn and Flora (Shelman) Woodburn. She married Wayne Jennings December 7, 1933 in Maryville, Missouri. They later divorced.

      Vera worked at Reece’s Cafe in Stanberry and later at the St. Joseph YMCA for many years.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Wayne Jennings; sons, Robert and Max Jennings; and grandsons, Steven and Gregory Jennings.

      Vera is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Marilyn) Jennings, Stanberry, Missouri, Donald (Arlene) Jennings, Stanberry, Missouri, Rex (Cathy) Jennings, Kansas City, Missouri and Roy (Cathy) Jennings, Queen City, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Swett, El Cayon, California; daughter-in-law, Patty Jennings, Grant City, Missouri; and former daughter-in-law, Agnes Jennings, Stanberry, Missouri.

      Graveside Services & Inurnment 10:00 A.M. Saturday, Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri.  Care provided by Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
