Barbara Ann Barnes, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri died Wednesday, July 26, 2012 at a local health care facility.
She was born on August 18, 1932 in Forest City, Missouri to Don and Zelma Brown.
Barbara and her husband, Malcomb Dee Barnes, who survives of the home, were married for 48 years.
Mrs. Barnes worked as a secretary for the State of Missouri, Division of Family Services.
She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ; Questers; and a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, of which she was a member of the Women’s Society.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Zelma (Brown) Edwards.
Survivors: her husband; daughter Lisa Ann Stumpf (Steve), St. Joseph; son Clint Dee Barnes (Danielle), St. Joseph; grandchildren Rhiannon Nicole Stumpf; brother Carroll Edwards (Phyllis), Hannibal, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Services 1:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The Family will receive friends 12:30 to 1:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The Family suggests memorial gifts to Hope United Church of Christ, 19999 State Route W, Cosby, Missouri 64436.

Roger and I are so sorry about the passing of Barb. She will be missed by many. It’s never easy to let those we love go but she is in a better place now. May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you now and forever.
