1929-2012

      Vergie Mae Duncan,82 , St. Joseph, Missouri died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. 

      She was born December 17, 1929 to Alonzo S. and Myrtle E. (Turner) Boyce.

      She married Neil R. Duncan, Sr on May 24, 1947 and they enjoyed 65 years together.

      Mrs. Duncan retired as a lab tech for Philips Roxane. She was also the Director of Birth Right, a member of the First Baptist Church, and a volunteer for Patee Park Food Pantry for 15 years.    

       Vergie enjoyed bowling and fishing. She also loved being with her grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Neil R. Duncan, Jr.; great-great-grandson, Jace; and sister, Lillian Boyce.

      Survivors: her husband, Neil of the home; son, Keith Duncan (Debbie), St. Joseph, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Gail Duncan; seven grandchildren; numerous, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; and brother Louie Boyce.

      Services:  10:00 A.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 4:00 P.M Friday.  The family would like to thank the staff of LTACH of Heartland Regional Medical Center for the excellent care Vergie received. The family suggests memorial gifts to Patee Park Food Pantry or First Baptist Church.
