
Robert H. Olsen
1923-2012
Robert Henry Olsen, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 13, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born August 26, 1923 in St. Joseph the son of Bonnie and Henry Olsen. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Robert retired from St. Joseph Fuel Oil Company.
He was a longtime member of Copeland Baptist Church. Throughout his life he enjoyed boating, fishing, dancing, camping, coin collecting and spending winters in Texas. The memories shared by his family will live in their hearts forever.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary.
Survivors include three daughters: Judy and Jim Janssen of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; Sharon and Clint Robertson of St. Joseph; and Connie and Tim Whitsitt, St. Joseph; eight grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Services: 3:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Wednesday. The family suggests memorial gifts to Alzheimer’s Association.
