Patrick Rayphiel Dare, 87, Country Club Village, Missouri died Sunday, October 14, 2012.

He was born November 9, 1924 to Jackson R. and Daisy Belle (Moberly) Dare in St. Joseph.

Patrick married Shirley Mae (Trout) Dare on November 8, 1944, who preceded him in death on September 30, 1992.

Mr. Dare served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II from 1941 to 1946. He worked for 38 years at Burlington Northern Rail Road as a brakeman, conductor and switchman.

Patrick was a member and Elder of Community Presbyterian Church; Pacesetter Credit Union Board Chairperson; Zoning Committee at Country Club Village; and East St. Joseph Kiwanis club. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and listening to the Fort Dodge, Iowa radio station.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sister, Anna Mae Adamson; and brother, Jackie Dare.

Survivors: his son, Patrick Raymond Dare, Country Club Village; son, Bill Dare (Linda), Mohave, Arizona; daughter, Carol Dare, Edmond, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorial gifts to Hands of Hope Hospice.
