Leonard Eugene Kieser

1923-2012

 

Leonard Eugene Kieser, 88 of Easton, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 22, 2012.

Leonard was born on December 7, 1923 in Easton, Missouri to William and Mable Jenny (Roberts) Kieser.

He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Army in Italy. He farmed his whole life and also worked for FarMarCo soybean plant in St. Joseph. He was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

On August 28, 1948, he married Helen Louise Moore and she survives of the home. Other survivors include his sister, Anna Lee Pike, of Easton and his children and their spouses: Jean (David) Jaster of Leavenworth, Kansas; June (Jon) Powell of Green Valley, Arizona; J.W. (Doris) Kieser of Kansas City, Missouri; John Kieser and Joe Kieser of St. Joseph, Missouri; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mable; sister, Louise Meuli; and brother, Lester C. Kieser.

Leonard loved his wife, family and all his nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Leonard’s special love for the farm was manifested in being on his Allis-Chalmers tractor and he farmed as long as his health permitted. He also enjoyed watching the harvesters plant and combine his fields.

Leonard’s life was one of hard work and many accomplishments. He was involved in farming up until his passing.

Services:  10:00 A.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.  The family suggests memorial gifts to Ebenezer Methodist Church.
