Raymond Martin Dydell, 57, St. Joseph, Missouri died Friday, March 2, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 9, 1955 to Raymond M. and Betty C. (Wilson) Sanders

Raymond married Sabrina West on November 3, 2000.

He had a high school diploma, attended Missouri Western State University and later graduated from Northland Career Center in Platte City, Missouri as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  He worked for many years at Carriage Square.  He enjoyed playing Triple A baseball throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bolton Dydell; and grandmother, Alberta Wilson.

Survivors: wife, Sabrina Dydell; sons, Chris Dydell(Jackie), Iowa, Raymond Dydell (Angie), Iowa; daughter, Patricia Kellogg-Dydell, St Joseph, Missouri; son, Christopher Chipps, St. Joseph, Missouri; daughters, Stevi Dydell, St. Joseph, Missouri, McKenna Dydell, Wentzville, Missouri, Peyton Dydell, Wentzville, Missouri; six grandchildren; aunt, Ruth Marie Mozee, St. Joseph, Missouri; brothers, Kenneth Dydell (Bertha), William Dydell (Irene), Michael Dydell (Linda); sister, Vontella Dydell; brothers, Gary Dydell (Karen) and Mark Dydell; sisters, Sharon Weston (Grey) and Janice Lee; brother, Roger Dydell; sister, Kellie Tope (Terri); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial Service:  1:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Flowers are appreciated and for those wishing to make a contribution, the family requests they be made to the Dydell Family.

    My prayers and thoughts go to Raymond’s family. He was such a caring individual, loved what he did at Carriage Square. He was a godsend to my mother while she was there.     I am so saddened by the loss of Raymond. My heart breaks for his family and anyone that knew him. He was one of the kindest and most caring individuals, I have every met. He and Sabrina were the greatest neighbors and I have missed them and their family tremendously. He loved my cooking and ask how I learned to cook soul food. I also remember him and Mark taking bets on how long it would take me to get that huge pile of dirt moved. Raymond placed his bet on me. He will truly bless the heavens!     how i will miss you greatly at work !!!! i have known raymond since grade school and high school at lafayette and we went to humblodt grade school—he was 2 years behind me—he brought joy to everyone he met and you just couldnt not love the big guy !!!! he loved life and people and his great concern about everyone who was under his care at carriage square and friends as well—-so proud of his family and what he had accomplished in life—–he was loved by all at carriage square !!!!!!we will miss you raymond and we love you just as much—until we meet again be with those that has passed away from carriage square that was under your care and love!!!!!! until we see you again love to you brother—–gary garver

    Looking at Raymond’s picture touches my heart deeply. He was my brother and a life line during my teen age years. I remember waiting eagerly for him to pick me up so I could go to his softball games. I accompanied him so often that many thought I was his wife.(Lol) I soo enjoyed watching him pitch that fast pitch. In his words he would “rock and fire” He was the best!!!

    I met Raymond at Carriage Squre. When our loved one passed he was there and so full of spirit. Just watching him you knew he had a direct connection to our higher power! It was amazing,beautiful and so very meaningful. There is not a doubt in my mind he will carry on with his spirit gifts.

    I was saddened to read about the loss of Raymond, but at the same time happy to see that he had become an LPN. I played softball with Raymond on the old St. Joe Woods team and his true calling was smiling and making others laugh and feel good. I can only imagine how many people he made laugh while caring for them. Rest in peace Raymond.
