Arthur Laverne Scarbrough, 93, Mound City, Missouri died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at a local healthcare facility.

Arthur (affectionately known as “Tuffy”) was born to Martin and Jane Scarbrough on June 22, 1919 in Corning, Missouri.  He was the last of seven children in his immediate family.  Preceding him were five brothers and one sister.

He worked as a farmer most of his adult life in the Mound City area and managed a Livestock Auction in Shenandoah, Iowa for several years.  He attended the First Christian Church of Mound City.

Survivors: daughter, Sue Hieber (Tom), Ball Ground, Gorgia; two sons, Fred Scarbrough (Laurie), Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Roger Scarbrough (Jeannie), Liberty, Missouri; granddaughters, Torri, Tiffany, Cassie, and Ashley; grandsons, Derek, Drew, Joe, and Bradley; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service:  2:00 – 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 6, at First Christian Church of Mound City followed by a Celebration Social Hour at The Klub from 3:30 – 5:30 P.M.  All are welcome. The family suggest memorial gifts be given to the Holt County Senior Center (Nutrition Site).  Care provided by Pettijohn & Crawford Funeral Home.
