Ronald D. Owens, Sr.

Ronald D. Owens, Sr., 70, St. Joseph, Missouri died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 29, 1943 to William Van and Minnie Myrtle (Smith) Owens in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Ronald married Barbara Adkins on June 27, 1960. She survives of the home.
He worked for many years at Johnson Seed Service and as a cab driver at Yellow Cab Company. He was also a jack of all trades.
Ronald enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, and going to the casino. He especially loved his family and his dog Sally.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jneva Houston; and brothers, William and Raymond Owens.
Survivors: wife, Barbara; children, Laura Jeanne Renfrow, Ronald Owens, Jr. (Crystal), Jeffery Owens (Lisa), Lisa Maharrey (Daniel), and Ernest Owens; sister, Evelyn Richardson; twenty grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 1:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Mount Auburn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 4:00 P.M. Sunday.     I was so sorry to hear about Ronny. He filled me with alot of giggles as a teenager… Teased me quite a bit… But enjoyed the time growing up knowing and living next door to the family….He never forgot me as time passed he would see me at Green Hills quite a bit and come straight to me.. Thats the kind of friendly people person he was…May he Rest In Peace and may you find comfort in this hard time…
