Arvesta (Strong) Yates

Arvesta (Strong) Yates, 63, Faucett, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018.
She was born August 24, 1954 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Melvin and Lillie (Pope) Strong.
Arvesta married Shelby Yates, Jr. June 26, 1982. He survives of the home.
She attended West Tallahatchie High School, St. Joseph Beauty Universtiy and owned Total Image Beauty Salon.
Arvesta enjoyed fishing, casinos, sporting events with her grandchildren and traveling to Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Jr.; sisters, Linda Faith Brown and Ruth Mae Strong-Liner.
Additional survivors include children, Marcus Strong, LaWanda Strong, Shelia Yates and Shelby Yates, III.; grandchildren, Tyus Strong, Tyshell Eckert, Khania Clark, Joseph Clark, and Xavier Evans; brothers, Cary, Willie, Melvin and Allen Strong; sisters, Daisy McIntyre (Willie), Deloise Anderson, Cakreen Strong and Ella Mae Strong; brothers-in-law, George Yates, Tyrone Yates (Michelle), Arthur Brown and Chris Yates; sisters-in-law, Mozella Williams, Emma Cook (Ray), and Darlene Higgins; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Friday, First Lutheran Church. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Online guest book and obituary at
