Blondena Lorene “Blondie” Underwood
1931-2017

Blondena Lorene “Blondie” Underwood, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017.
She was born May 3, 1931 in Albany, Missouri to Thay and Aldora (Foster) Riddle.
As a youth she lived her young life around Birchtree and Montier, Missouri. Blondie married John Underwood in Mountain Home, Arkansas
June 26, 1952 and relocated to St. Joseph, Missouri. John preceded her in death February 8, 2000.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, crossword puzzles, taking trips, watching birds, playing guitar and loved music. Blondie was very artistic and enjoyed drawing.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Theo Evans, Ocelia Beavers and Leila Lease; brothers, L.D., Ted, and Lee Riddle, Jake Hines; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include children, Barbara Cox (Tim), Patricia Moran (Jim), John Underwood, Jr. (Regina), Steve Underwood (Kathy), and Roberta Hensley (Troy); grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Donna, Kelly, Cara, Megan, April, Josh, Billy and Korrie; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, James Riddle (Charlotte).
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Blakely Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Wounded Warrior Project. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.
