Christopher Ryan Garrison

Christopher Ryan Garrison of St. Joseph, Missouri made his transition on May 31, 2018 at Mosaic Life Center in St. Joseph. He was 45.
“Viper,” as he was known to his friends, was a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who began playing the guitar as a child. He went on to influence an entire generation of musicians in the St. Joseph area. Ryan dedicated his life to his family and traveled extensively throughout the United States.
He was born July 4, 1972 to Gaylord Everett “Gary” and Sue Anne (Hubbard) Garrison in Des Moines, IA.
Ryan graduated from Central High School in 1990 and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO.
Survivors include: son, Grant Orion Garrison, St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Autem Hoover, St. Joseph, MO; former wife, Branda Hoover, St. Joseph, MO; brother, Gaylord Robert Garrison & his wife Michelle, Springfield, MO; and aunt, Gaylia Garrison, St. Joseph, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Gaylord Albert and Dixie Garrison; and maternal grandparents, Lowell and Barbara Hubbard.
Ryan’s family and friends will celebrate his life at Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 5:00 P.M. For those who wish to contribute, the family request donations be made to the Grant Orion Garrison College Fund.
