David H. Schoeneck, a resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away on April 6, 2017 due to failing health at the age of 67.
David, most of his friends call him Dave, was born on September 16, 1949 to parents, John and Hortense (Newman) Schoeneck and was raised in St. Joseph, Missouri. He graduated from Blair Elementary in 1961, Bliss Junior High in 1963, and Central High in 1967. Being musically inclined, he attended college at Northwest Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education in 1971.
While studying for his Master’s Degree in Music Education at Northwest Missouri State, Dave joined the DeSoto Kansas School District to teach music and band activities to children. While teaching, Dave moonlighted in the restaurant business which led him to a new career as a restaurant manager in 1977.
Dave married his first wife, Vicki Johnson and helped raise her five children until their divorce. During this period of time Dave and Vicki bought and operated a restaurant in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Dave started DJ-ing at a local St. Joe club called The Lettermans Club where he met his second wife LeeAnn McCormick and they were married in 1991. Dave and LeeAnn were divorced in 1999.
Tiring of the restaurant and club businesses and wishing to return to the school system, Dave attended Northwest Missouri State, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Secondary Supervision and Administration in 1996. After graduation, Dave had several music positions teaching orchestra and band.
Dave switched careers a third time becoming a professional delivery truck driver for such companies as Airborne, DHL, and FedEx. The truck driving career led him to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Throughout the years, Dave was an avid bowler and was a member of the Professional Bowlers Association. He carried a league average of 205 to215 for many years and accomplished nine 300 games and three 800 series, his first 300 being in 1994.
Survivors include, brother, Larry, Austin, Texas.
Graveside Farewell Services & Inurnment 3:00 P.M. Friday, Memorial Park Cemetery. The procession will leave from Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Online guest book and obituary at
