Gary D. Combs
1937-2017

Gary D. Combs, 80, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017, at Laverna Village, Savannah, Missouri.
He was born January 20, 1937, to Cecil D. and Loretta T. (Knaller) Combs in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Gary married Joyce McCammon on November 6, 1957.
He worked for the St. Joseph Police Department and retired as a sergeant after 30 years. Gary was known as Peaceful Bull and had achieved Medicine Man in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say with the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Police.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Survivors include his children, Kari Pyles (Richard), Union Star, Missouri, Kathy Pearson, Country Club, Missouri, and Kevin Combs (Jennifer), Mission, Kansas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services 1:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pony Express Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
