Obituary for Gary Mac McDonald

Gary Mac McDonald

Gary Mac McDonald, 73, Agency, Missouri, went home to his heavenly father on May 16, 2017.
He was born to Raymond and Marcella McDonald in Kearny, Nebraska on June 11, 1943.
Gary worked construction his entire life and retired from the Operating Engineers Local Union 101 in St. Joseph. From there he opened a bait and tackle store. He purchased the Atomic Bait and enjoyed making bait and experimenting with new recipes. Gary loved to talk to other fisherman and listen to their “fish” stories. Growing up he loved horses, fishing and hunting and on the weekends you could usually find him at the lake lot with his line in the water. He loved to tell stories of his own about when he was growing up, even the ones that got him into trouble. Gary was a true family man and when they say that anyone can be a father, it takes someone special to be a daddy. He was definitely our daddy. May you dance in the heavens and rejoice in his love. God bless you, husband, daddy, and papa. We will miss you, but one day will see you again.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph; sister, Marlene; and granddaughter, Jacquelyn Furbee.
Survivors include his wife Ruth (Saxton) McDonald of 53 years; daughters, Lori McClain, Stacy Furbee (Ed); son, Allan McDonald; grandsons, Andrew Furbee, Christopher, Kaleb and Skylar McDonald; several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life 1:00 P.M. Sunday, June 25th, Agency Community Center, Agency, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Gary requested donations to the Jacquelyn Furbee Memorial Scholarship Fund, The Agency United Methodist Church or Copeland Baptist Church Online guest book and obituary at
