Illah J. Snodderly

Illah J. Snodderly, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Carriage Square, St. Joseph.
She was born February 6, 1930, the first child to Ralph A. and Juanita V. (Adams) Sawyer in St. Joseph.
Illah married Bryce E. Snodderly November 25, 1950. They were married 67 years, and he survives of the home.
She was a home maker throughout her life. After her children were grown, she also worked at Montgomery Ward for 10½ years.
Illah was a dedicated, lifelong member of Wyatt Park Christian Church, first attending when she was a week old. She was involved in both the Christian Women’s Fellowship and Sunday school groups.
She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Illah was a people person who always put others ahead of herself. Her love of her family knew no bounds.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jeanetta Danford.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Craig (Stacy), Brian (Mary), and James (Beth) Snodderly; grandchildren, Tony, Mark, Jeffrey, Sienna; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Randall (Joyce) and Bill Sawyer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Farewell Services 3:00 P.M. Friday, visitation one hour prior to the service, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Wyatt Park Christian Church Memorial Fund. Online guest book and obituary at
