James William “J.W.” Kieser
1954-2018

James William “J.W.” Kieser, 63, was born on June 1, 1954, to Leonard Eugene and Helen Louise (Moore) Kieser in St. Joseph, Missouri, and passed away on March 23, 2018.
He enjoyed helping his dad and grandpa Jim on the Moore farm. J.W. graduated from East Buchanan High School in 1972 and joined the Missouri Air National Guard at Rosecrans Air Force Base upon graduation. He then married his high school sweetheart, Doris Ann Mumford on June 2, 1972.
J.W. worked for Hobart Refrigerators from 1973-1977 and then retired from Ford Motor Company in March 2009 after 31 years. For 21 years, J.W. served his country in the Air National Guard and retired in May 1993 as Master Sergeant.
On June 2, 2017, he and Doris celebrated 45 years of marriage. They were blessed with two daughters and seven grandchildren.
J.W. was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Eugene Kieser on October 22, 2012, and his mother, Helen Louise Kieser on July 4, 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Doris, of the home; two daughters, Jamie Ann Koontz and husband Mark of El Dorado, Kansas, and Melissa Janette Dockery of the home; seven grandchildren, Haley Marianne Koontz, Levi Marshall Guyer, Seth Michael Guyer, Kelsey Jaylynn Koontz, Braden Mark Koontz, Miranda Janette Dockery, and Nolan Andrew Dockery; three adopted grandchildren, Brooklynne Kieser, Aubrey Kieser, and Parker Bottorff. Also surviving are his two sisters, Jean and husband David Jaster of Leavenworth, Kansas, and June and husband Jon Powell of Green Valley, Arizona; two brothers, Johnnie Moore Kieser of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Leonard Joe Kieser of Easton, Missouri; three aunts, Anna Lee Pike, LaDonne Kieser, and Betty Albee; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
J.W. was a member of Antioch Bible Baptist Church in Gladstone, Missouri. He served on the lawn mowing team for several years.
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Thursday, Antioch Bible Baptist Church and 3:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
