Russell L. Morris

Russell L. Morris, 82, Savannah, Missouri passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Mosaic Life Care.
He was born January 14, 1935 in Nodaway County, Missouri to John and Gladys (Pistole) Morris. They preceded him in death.
Russell married Cheryl L. Sharp on June 4, 1960. She preceded him in death March 23, 2009.
He graduated from Pickering High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree at Northwest Missouri State University. Russell proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a driver’s examiner for the State of Missouri before joining the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 1960. He was stationed with the patrol in Grant City, Cameron and St. Joseph before retiring in 1991.
Russell enjoyed woodworking and traveling. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leslie and Eldon Morris.
Survivors include his children, Richard L. Morris (Celerina), Sherrilyn L. Morris and Karl L. Morris; grandchildren, Margaux E. Morris and Marshall E. Morris; sisters, Louise White and Vivian Harris.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Missouri State Highway Patrol- MASTERS. Online guest book and obituary at
